Privacy Policy

Information You Provide

When you use TabKeep, you may enter names, profile emojis, group names, member names, expense descriptions, amounts, currencies, categories, dates, payments, receipt photos, and other details needed to track shared expenses.

If you sign in with Apple or Google, TabKeep may receive account identifiers and email information from the sign-in provider. Your display name and profile details remain controlled inside TabKeep.

Local Data

TabKeep is designed to work offline. Expense data can be stored locally on your device so you can create groups and record expenses without an internet connection.

Local data stays on your device unless you use features that require sharing, sync, invite links, account linking, receipt upload, or server-backed recovery.

Sync, Invites, and Shared Groups

When you share a group, join a group, or use sync features, relevant group data is sent to TabKeep's backend services so other members can see the shared expense record. This may include group membership, expenses, payments, receipt references, invite status, and conflict-resolution metadata.

Invite links use third-party deep-link infrastructure to route people into the correct shared group. The link provider may process device, click, and routing information needed to open the app or complete the invite flow.

Receipts and Photos

If you attach receipt photos, the app may access your camera or photo library with your permission. Receipts can remain local for local-only groups. When a shared group uses receipt sync, receipt images or receipt metadata may be uploaded so group members can view them.

Notifications

If you allow push notifications, TabKeep may store an Apple Push Notification service token associated with your app installation. This is used to deliver relevant group or sync updates.

Exchange Rates

Multi-currency features may request exchange-rate data from a third-party rate provider. Requests can include currency codes and dates needed to calculate or refresh rates.

Service Providers

TabKeep may use service providers for hosting, authentication, deep links, push notifications, receipt storage or delivery, and exchange-rate data. These providers process information only as needed to operate those features.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide expense tracking, calculate balances, simplify settlements, sync shared groups, attach receipts, route invite links, support sign-in, send requested notifications, prevent abuse, debug reliability issues, and respond to support requests.

Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, or clear app data. Server-backed data may remain while your account, device identity, or shared groups are active, and for a reasonable period afterward for backup, reliability, security, and legal reasons.

Your Choices

You can choose not to sign in, not to share a group, not to attach receipts, and not to enable notifications. You can delete groups or expenses in the app subject to the limitations of shared records already visible to other group members.

Children

TabKeep is not intended for children under 13. Do not use TabKeep if you are not old enough to consent to this policy in your country or region.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as TabKeep changes. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
